NEW SECO INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

SECO International 2005 is over, and the new officers for the year have been installed. Dr. Richard Phillips of Johnson City stepped down from the presidency and Dr. Lowell Gilbert of Colonial Heights, Virginia, is president of SECO International. Dr. Jonathan Shrewbury of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, is the new officer of the council and is Secretary. Dr. Sidney Stern is President-Elect, Dr. Doug Clark is Vice President, Dr. Wilburn Lord is Treasurer.
ACE 2005 IN BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND

SECO LOSES A FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE

Dr. W. David Sullins, Jr., passed away in early February of this year. Dr. Sullins was well-known throughtout the optometry community for his efforts to improve the profession. The funeral service for Dr. Sullins was held on Wednesday February 9, 2005. A large contingent of mourners gathered at the Keith Memorial United Methodist Church in Athens, Tennessee on an overcast drizzling day to pay their respects. David's immediate family, optometric family and military family were all in attendance. Dr. Norman Haffner's eloquent eulogy touched everyone deeply.

Dr. Sullins was a long-time vounteer with the SECO organization, and we will sorely miss his leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication to optometry. SECO invites friends and colleagues of Dr. Sullins to participate in memorial project. Dr. John Amos of the University of Alabama, Birmingham will be presenting Dr. Sullins' family with a bound book containing stories about how "the Admiral" influenced the lives of so many optometrists.
