SECO INTERNATIONAL 2005 CALL FOR POSTERS

SECO International would like to notify all schools, residency programs, and other educational environments that SECO will collect abstracts for multimedia posters for the upcoming SECO congress, February 23-27, 2005, from September 1, 2004, through October 15, 2004. SECO will notify selected authors by November 1, 2004; all materials must be submitted by December 31, 2004.

Multimedia posters are Microsoft PowerPoint presentations of traditional educational posters. Authors can include images, audio and even video to enhance their presentation. A panel of peers will review and select 50 posters for publishing at the congress. Selected posters will be published during the congress and identified in a separate list of congress posters, available at the Advanced Media Learning Center (AMLC). SECO will also publish selected posters on www.SECOInternational.com where the posters will remain online for up to three years.

SECO International offers a small honorarium for each poster accepted. SECO International also awards one complimentary registration (a $300+ value) for each poster or test accepted. SECO fulfills its poster quota quickly. If you have any questions, please contact Jon Reading at 770-451-8206.

CASINO NIGHT Roll big and win raffle tickets for fabulous prizes! Every SECO registrant attending this Saturday night party will receive play money with which to gamble for the opportunity to "buy" raffle tickets with your winnings. Fabulous prizes will be raffled off throughout the night.

BAD HABITS Need more movement with your action? You can break away from the Casino table for a while because the party will be grooving to dance favorites courtesy of the "eye docs of rock"- Bad Habits! This is a great pre-party for those of you looking to hit the Atlanta nightlife!

JAZZ BAR Still undecided? For you cool cats, the Jazz Bar will be open for laid back time. Enjoy great sounds as the band plays throughout the evening for your pleasure. Listen to old favorites and perhaps discover some new tunes.

All parties will run from 9:00 PM-Midnight and will be on the same floor at the Marriott Marquis so you can easily go from one to the other. Beverages, light snacks and desserts will be available in all parties.

SECO International 2005 is around the corner. This year, online registration has been expanded to aid registrants with more course information. Additionally, online registration to visit the Exhibits will open November 1, 2004. The purpose of DGR is to create a library of grand rounds that optometrists can research to improve their diagnostic skills. If you are interested in submitting a DGR of your own, you can submit your material online. Who knows, maybe your case will make it into Digital Grand Rounds!
