Answer:

This patient was referred out to a retinal specialist and later to a neuro-ophthalmologist. Neither could reveal any further evidence of the cause of the scotomas. There was speculation that this was a hyposic event secondary to the difficult lablor which resulted in a deep scotoma OU from the unusual optic neuropathy. The patient had no treatment is currently monitored every six months.
