Resident Case Presentation Submission System

Case Abstract Review Period - ends October 31,2008
During this period, authors may submit abstract case proposals for consideration to the Case Peer Review Committee
On behalf of SECO International, I’d like to make you aware of an exciting opportunity for current optometry residents to present their unique cases at a COPE-approved, continuing education seminar.

SECO International is committed to developing new young speakers who can educate future optometrists at continuing education events. We invite abstracts from residents who are interested to apply. In order to be considered, you must currently be enrolled in an ACOE-accredited residency or fellowship program. Preferred topics include cases involving ocular or oculosystemic disease, but all submissions will be considered. A committee will select five cases and one alternate to be presented in this grand rounds type of forum. The individuals selected for this program will receive a token of appreciation as well as complimentary registration for SECO 2009.

This unique initiative affords residents a public forum in which to showcase their knowledge and abilities, helping them develop the skills to shine as a future speaker and thought leader in our profession. In addition, the exposure gained at this meeting may in turn serve as excellent publicity for each participant’s respective residency program, since it will be heavily promoted to optometry students as well as practicing clinicians.

Thank you in advance for your participation, and I hope to see you at SECO 2009.

Paul Ajamian, O.D.
    Where do I begin?
  1. Authors must have an active SECO Profile account to submit case abstracts. Your SECO Profile is a unique user account to access services available on www.secointernational.com. Click Here to create a SECO Profile if you do not have one.
  2. Click the CREATE button above to enter the Case Proposal System.
  3. Log in to the Case Proposal System and create a new case. You will not be able to edit your case abstract after the abstract is submitted.
  4. After submitting your case, SECO will contact you with further instructions if your case is selected for publication.
    Helpful Tips!
  • Allow e-mails from SECO, automated e-mails are targets for SPAM filters so allow e-mails from www.secointernational1.com to reach your inbox
  • Keep your description concise, case abstracts should be limited to no more than 120 words
  • Exclude non-printing characters and formatted characters, such as the trademark symbol, copyright symbol, or formatted text such as bulleted outlines
If you experience difficulty submitting a case abstract, please contact technology@secostaff.com.
