Mission Statement

• To bring optometrists together in an annual educational congress, hereinafter referred to as "CONGRESS," for the advancement of the profession of optometry worldwide and for the benefit of the public health and to hold such other educational meetings and exhibitions as may seem from time to time advisable.
  
  
• To publish, or cause to be published, educational materials relative to the profession of optometry in the form of pamphlets, books, or other media; and to disseminate, or cause to be disseminated, to the public or interested parties, such other information regarding optometry as may seem desirable and beneficial to the public.
  
  
• To cooperate with other health professions and with municipal, state, national and international agencies concerned with the public health and welfare, toward the improvement of the common weal.
